WHEREAS, the proposal to extend The Metropolitan St.
Louis Sewer District to include virtually all of that part of St.
Louis County not within the District was approved by voters of
that area on May 10, 1977; and
WHEREAS, this approval, which assures a progressive,
healthful, and economically better future for the entire
metropolitan St. Louis area, could not have been achieved without
a thorough understanding of the facts by the electorate and the
intense support of numerous civic-minded people and organizations;
and
WHEREAS, this electorate understanding and support were
provided outstandingly by all media of the area, public officials,
governmental units, the committee of Citizens for a Unified Sewer
System, the League of Women Voters, the many political
organizations of the area and by a myriad of individuals,
environmental and other civic-minded organizations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT that the Board
gratefully thanks and commends the media and each individual and
organization on behalf of the citizens who will benefit for many
generations to come from the intensely active interest, efforts
and support of these media, individuals and organizations.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted May 11, 1977.
