City, Missouri.
Approval of the Minutes:
A motion was made for approval of the minutes from the January 19,2017 meeting by Tim Theroff, Beth
Bock seconded. Minutes were approved.
Old Business:
QR codes were discussed in the meeting. Nancy suggested putting the QR code information on "Find a
Grave"website and not the City website. This will make the information on the individuals interred
easier to update from different sources(family,friends,etc.). David Grellner stated a paragraph and link
could be added to the City website to help direct people to the"Find a Grave"website.
Nancy Thompson gave an update on a recent meeting held with Dr.Tesfaye from Lincoln University and
the City of Jefferson GIS Division. Dr.Tesfaye has eight students to help with the mapping project in Old
City Cemetery. The students will be available from the middle of March until the end of April to help
with the project. The Cemetery Resource Boards responsibility is to place a survey flag with the name of

the person interred at each grave location. Students will use equipment to mark each point and then
create a map back at Lincoln University.
The veteran tombstones were discussed. The Missouri Governor's Mansion docents are having a
meeting next week to discuss the results of the veteran applications.
The Historic Walking Tour was discussed during the meeting. Nancy reported 20 docents will be
participating in the event. Discussion occurred between Jeanne Rutledge and Nancy Thompson
regarding Bill Stein,a musician, who could be part of the event. Nancy brought up the idea about
relating the East Capitol Avenue Renewal Plan with the Cemetery Walking Tour. People who lived in the
area and their house could be featured during the tour with possible photos of the homes. Nancy also
discussed with Tim Theroff on keeping the tour to a smaller area of the cemetery. Also dates were
discussed for the tour. The first preference was June 3,2017 and the second preference was May 20,
2017. Nancy was going to check with Rebecca Gordon on the availability of the docent's on these dates.
Nancy also announced there will be a Missouri World War I Symposium on April 8, 2017.This will be an
all-day event held at the Missouri Military Museum at the Fallen Warrior Auditorium in the Missouri
