HomeMy Public PortalAboutR1716 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 1716 WHEREAS, the $60 million clean water bond issue was passed by St. Louis City and County voters during the August 7 primary election; and WHEREAS, St. Louis City and County voters clearly understood the issues explained to them; and WHEREAS, the taxpayers of St. Louis City and County recognized the need for passage of the clean water bond issue and demonstrated recognition of this need by agreeing to reach into their own pockets to pay for clean water; and WHEREAS, business, labor, community groups and political leaders gave their wholehearted support for the passage of this important issue; and WHEREAS, the majority of St. Louis media clearly explained the true issues and need for passage of this bond issue; and WHEREAS, employees of the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District demonstrated their outstanding support of this bond issue by working for passage of this issue; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: THAT, this Board herewith cites and expresses its greatest appreciation and thanks to each and every individual for his support. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be posted throughout District offices and forwarded to each organization endorsing this bond issue so important to the District's on-going efforts to maintain clean water throughout its service area and within the three great rivers in its boundaries. ______________________________ CHAIRMAN ______________________________ VICE-CHAIRMAN ______________________________ ______________________________ ______________________________ _______________________________ The foregoing Resolution was adopted August 8, 1984.
