Ã*ÔR E S O L U T I O N NO. 1795•ƒ
ÁÁ WHEREAS, Woodrow Ragland has been employed by The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District as an attendant at the
Bissell Point Treatment Plant since November 14, 1976, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ragland has displayed unique initiative in
improving himself by furthering his education through the
programs of the Missouri Coalition for Adults Literacy, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ragland's educational achievements were
cited by Governor John Ashcroft at the annual conference of
governors in Washington, D.C. on February 22, 1987, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ragland addressed the conference of
governors to call attention to the problems of illiteracy in this
country, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ragland's personal educational
achievements and his work to combat illiteracy merit recognition
and praise, and reflect favorably upon the District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
THAT, this Board, on behalf of itself, the District,
and the public it serves, herewith cites and congratulates
Woodrow Ragland for his personal educational achievements and his
civic concern in calling attention to the problems of illiteracy
in this country.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted March 11, 1987.
