HomeMy Public PortalAboutRes-CC-2018-10CITY OF MOAB RESOLUTION NO. 10-2018 A RESOLUTION MEMORIALIZING THE MOAB CITY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION'S PRIORITIES for 2018 The following describes the intent and purpose of this resolution: A. On January 22, 2018, the Moab City Council ("Council") and the Moab City Planning and Zoning Commission ("Commission") held a joint workshop to discuss the expectations and priorities of the two bodies; and B. Based on that discussion, the following eight priorities are established for the Commission's work in the calendar year 2018: 1. Recommend an Assured Housing Policy to the Council. 2. Recommend a Planned Affordable Development ordinance and/or revisions to the PUD section of the City Code to the Council. 3. Recommend other land use -related code changes that will reduce barriers to affordable housing development. 4. Recommend ways to mitigate the impacts of densification in residential zones — particularly with regard to lighting, parking, setbacks, and preserving solar access. 5. Continue to work on cleanup of land use code generally. 6. Participate in the process for developing, and recommend to the Council, a Central Business District Master Plan. 7. Recommend small area plans for Powerhouse Lane area and 400 East Corridor. 8. Update the General Plan with a more detailed Future Land Use Map (including anticipated areas for annexation). The foregoing resolution is approved and adopted by action of the Moab City Council, as set forth below. This resolution shall take effect immediately. Mayor Emily S.
