HomeMy Public PortalAboutR1868 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 1868 WHEREAS, the River des Peres Sewerage and Drainage Works is a public landmark virtually every St. Louisan recognizes, and WHEREAS, the River des Peres facilities are an important part of the services The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District provides to the St. Louis community, and WHEREAS, on October 27, 1988, the River des Peres Sewerage and Drainage Works will be dedicated as a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers in recognition of the hydrological innovations and workmanship performed in designing and building this project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT, that this Board pays special recognition to the achievement of those individuals responsible for the design and development of the River des Peres Sewerage and Drainage Works, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in recognition of the dedication of the River des Peres Sewerage and Drainage Works as a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers, Thursday, October 27, 1988 be declared as "River des Peres Recognition Day" within the boundaries of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, and that a copy of this resolution be displayed in public view at the District offices, 2000 Hampton Avenue. The foregoing Resolution was adopted October 26, 1988.
