WHEREAS, the District will enter into a contract with
the City of St. Louis beginning February 1, 1990 to administer a
sewer lateral repair program approved by the voters in the City
of St. Louis; and
WHEREAS, the District makes every effort to recruit
minorities and women as employees, contractors, and consultants,
and any other business or agencies serving the District; and
WHEREAS, the District has a policy known as the
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Utilization Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis now operates under an
Executive Order dated December 6, 1984 regarding minority
participation in all aspects of the economic development of the
City of St. Louis; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees
of the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District that the Board
hereby reaffirms its commitment to the participation by
minorities and women in all phases of the operations of the
District by requiring all contractors participating in any phase
of the St. Louis sewer lateral repair program to abide by the
provisions of the District's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise
Utilization Program and the City of St. Louis' Executive Order
dated December 6, 1984.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of the Resolution
shall be provided to all interested parties and all potential
contractors in any phase of the City of St. Louis sewer lateral
repair program.ÁÁ
The foregoing Resolution was adopted February 14, 1990.
