HomeMy Public PortalAboutR2103 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 2103 WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to recognize those District employees who have been called to active military duty as a result of the flood emergency of 1993, or duty related thereto, by continuing compensation and employment benefits for such employees during their terms of active military duty, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT, that any provision to the contrary notwithstanding, any permanent employee of the District, or any employee working in a probationary status, who, as a member of the National Guard or any Reserve component of the Armed Forces of the United States, is called to active military duty as a result of the flood emergency of 1993, or duty related thereto, and who is placed on military leave of absence from the District for such period of active duty, shall be granted compensation in an amount which represents the difference between the employee's gross regular bi-weekly pay from the District and his/her total military pay plus allowances, if such military pay and allowances amount to less than the employee's regular bi- weekly District pay, and shall be further granted all insurance and employment benefits as may be applicable for said period. All compensation and benefits as granted hereunder shall be provided retroactively to the date that the District employee reported for active military duty, and remain in effect for a period of one year or the date said employee's active military duty status 2 terminates, whichever is shorter. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in order to receive said compensation and benefits, any District employee so called to active military duty shall submit to his/her Appointing Authority and to the Director of Personnel a copy of the official order from the appropriate military authority evidencing that employee's active duty status and the employee's total military pay plus allowances. The employee shall also submit to the Director of Finance a copy of any such military pay documents as are deemed necessary by the Director to determine the amount of compensation to be paid to the employee hereunder. 3 The foregoing Resolution was adopted August 11, 1993.
