WHEREAS, Thomas M. Carney served as a Trustee of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District Board of Trustees
representing St. Louis County from February, 1989 until June, 1994;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Carney's foresight and fortitude in decision
making helped guide the District during those years and helped lay
the foundation for meeting future challenges; and
WHEREAS, during Mr. Carney's tenure in office, the
District made numerous improvements to the water quality of area
streams and to the service delivered to the residents of the area;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Carney's knowledge of environmental issues
and the law led to many significant contributions to the Board and
staff during his service as a trustee; and
WHEREAS, the entire St. Louis area benefited from Mr.
Carney's service on this Board and his many other civic commitments
which helped make this a better community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT that this Board, on
behalf of the District and the public it serves, wishes to commend
Thomas M. Carney for his many contributions and service while
serving on The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District Board of
Trustees.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
presented to Mr. Carney in recognition and appreciation for his
service to the community.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted December 8, 1994.
