WHEREAS, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has
awarded The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District an Environmental Justice Program Grant of
Nineteen Thousand Nine Hundred Sixty Dollars ($19,960.00), and
WHEREAS, the funds from said EPA Grant will be used to fund the District's
participation in the Community Access to Environmental Education Program (CATEE) in order
to raise the understanding of environmental issues within the City of St. Louis, Missouri, and
WHEREAS, the District is participating in said CATEE Program with the 27th
Ward Organization, a community-based group, to promote citizen understanding of
environmental issues, and the courses of action necessary to resolve said issues, and
WHEREAS, the positive impact of said CATEE Program, as made possible by
the aforesaid EPA Grant, will be beneficial examples for the dissemination of urban
environmental information throughout the whole District area, and for other cities,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT, That the Executive Director and
Secretary-Treasurer are hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District to accept an Environmental Justice Program Grant of Nineteen Thousand Nine
Hundred Sixty Dollars ($19,960.00) from the United States Environmental Protection Agency
to fund the District's participation in the Community Access to Environmental Education
Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Executive Director and Secretary-
Treasurer are authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to effect the acceptance
of the aforesaid EPA Grant.
