HomeMy Public PortalAboutR2241 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 2241 WHEREAS, The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District staff wishes to jointly file an application with the City of St. Louis for a $500,000 Economic Development Act (EDA) grant, and WHEREAS, the EDA grant along with other state, local and MSD funds will help finance construction of the Blow Street Pump Station and other sewer improvements in an area of south St. Louis City, and WHEREAS, this improvement project will help foster economic development and maintain the economic vitality of this region by upgrading the sewer infrastructure system, and WHEREAS, the building of the Blow Street Pump Station and sewer improvements will help the entire community, business and residential alike, by providing a more reliable method of flood protection and enhance the sanitary sewer service provided to this area of the city. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: THAT, the staff should proceed with the filing of an application with the City of St. Louis for an Economic Development Act grant of $500,00 for construction of the Blow Street Pump Station in south St. Louis City as quickly as possible. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE BOARD, THAT staff should apprise the Board of the status of the application and eventual receipt of the grant on an annual basis. The foregoing Resolution was adopted January 9, 1997.
