Keating diligently served the customers of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District for 33 years until his death on March 30, 1997, and WHEREAS, Mr. Keating epitomized how an MSD employee through hard work and determination can reach his goals. Mr. Keating rose through the ranks from a Field Clerk I position to become Director of Maintenance. Mr. Keating was a graduate of the District's Career Development Program, earning bachelor and masters degrees, and WHEREAS, Mr. Keating's strong organizational and leadership skills helped guide the maintenance department in the four years he served as Director, and WHEREAS, Mr. Keating's devotion to his job and genuine concern for the welfare of the employees and customers of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District endeared him to his co-workers and those he helped, and WHEREAS, Mr. Keating was an avid outdoorsman and fully recognized the important role MSD plays in protecting the water environment of the community where he lived. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT that this Board on behalf of the District, expresses its heartfelt condolences to his wife, JoAnn Keating and to his children, Scott Keating and Kim Penn and further expresses its deepest appreciation for the long and distinguished service rendered by Mr. Keating to this District, its employees and the entire St. Louis community. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be presented to his family and a copy be posted in all District maintenance facilities. The foregoing Resolution was adopted April 10, 1997.
