HomeMy Public PortalAboutR2286 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 2286 WHEREAS, the Minority Business Development Implementation Committee of FOCUS St. Louis and the St. Louis Minority Business Council have drafted Covenant 2004 as an implementation initiative to secure corporate and governmental commitment to publicly support and participate in the development and expansion of minority business in the St. Louis Region, and WHEREAS, Covenant 2004 seeks to make minority businesses an integral part of the region's economic base, and to encourage organizations - business, religious, social, public and non-profit - to expand minority economic opportunity and development, and WHEREAS, the program also helps identify and remove barriers preventing minority owned businesses from attaining the goals of Covenant 2004, and WHEREAS, the results of the Covenant 2004 progress will be measurable, and WHEREAS, The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District shares the stated beliefs and goals of Covenant 2004 and commits to the formulation of an action plan, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: That, The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District hereby endorses Covenant 2004 as devised by FOCUS St. Louis and the St. Louis Minority Business Council. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That, the Executive Director and Secretary- Treasurer are hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to execute a formal endorsement of Covenant 2004. The foregoing Resolution was adopted April 9, 1998.
