HomeMy Public PortalAboutR2338 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 2338 WHEREAS, The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District=s Department of
Environmental Compliance (DEC) has been given national recognition by the United
States Environmental Protection Agency as the outstanding industrial pretreatment
program of its class in the country for 1999, and
WHEREAS, the DEC and the programs it manages have consistently been
recognized since its inception in the early 1970's as an exemplary program which has
set the standards other municipal wastewater agencies throughout the country have
used in establishing and operating their own programs, and
WHEREAS, the industries and companies regulated by the DEC
acknowledge the cooperation and professional demeanor demonstrated by the DEC
personnel in dealings with them, and
WHEREAS, the DEC plays an integral part in the overall services
provided by the District to protect the public=s health and the water environment of
our community from pollution, and
WHEREAS, the employees of the DEC, without whom this recognition as
the top pretreatment program in the country for 1999 would not be possible, are loyal,
dedicated professionals deserving of such an honor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT THAT, it
wishes to commend the employees of the Department of Environmental Compliance
upon their excellent work, and join with the United States Environmental Protection
Agency in acknowledging the Department=s pretreatment program as the best in the
country.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be presented
to all employees of the Department of Environmental Compliance in recognition of the
distinction bestowed upon them at an event to be held in their honor.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted October 14, 1999.
