Sheffield served on the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District for nearly six years, from July, 1994 to March, 2000, and WHEREAS, during Ms. Sheffield=s tenure as chairperson of the Board in Fiscal Year 1998, and throughout her Board service, she demonstrated her considerable leadership and decision making abilities, and WHEREAS, Ms. Sheffield exhibited a common sense approach toward policy making and governance of the District, and WHEREAS, Ms. Sheffield was guided in her service by a true concern that the District=s customers be considered first and foremost in the minds of District employees and Board members, and WHEREAS, the experience Ms. Sheffield brought to the Board after serving as mayor of the City of Webster Groves was immeasurable in helping guide the District, and WHEREAS, Ms. Sheffield=s service on the District Board for nearly six years is only matched by her many civic and charitable board service, including the Edgewood Children=s Home, The Repertory Theater of St. Louis, Citizens for Modern Transit and the St. Louis Community Foundation, and WHEREAS, Ms. Sheffield continues to serve as a role model as a civil minded, involved and concerned citizen on St. Louis, and exemplifies the qualities of a true leader. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: THAT, this Board on behalf of itself, the District and the people it serves herewith wishes to express its sincere appreciation and respect to Glenn Sheffield for her many contributions and leadership shown while serving on the District Board of Trustees. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution expressing this thanks be presented to Ms. Sheffield by the Board and staff. The foregoing Resolution was adopted April 13, 2000.
