HomeMy Public PortalAboutR2427 R E S O L U T I O N NO. 2427 WHEREAS, Terry W. Briggs has faithfully served the residents and employees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District for nearly eighteen years, from February 21, 1984, to November 30, 2001, and WHEREAS, as Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Briggs enhanced the public understanding and knowledge of the District through the various programs and publications he implemented and published, and WHEREAS, Mr. Briggs’ developing and maintaining working relationships with federal, state and local elected and appointed officials benefited the District and the public it serves through the receipt of federal and state grants to help fund improvement projects, and WHEREAS, Mr. Briggs assisted in providing information to the public about District ballot issues which were successfully passed by the electorate in 1984, 1988, and 2000, and WHEREAS, Mr. Briggs organized and helped pass a $300 Million statewide water pollution bond issue in 1998, and WHEREAS, Mr. Briggs helped implement Open Line Meetings to provide District residents with more input into the decision-making process in District projects, WHEREAS, Mr. Briggs implemented numerous programs to enhance internal communication within the District, and WHEREAS, Mr. Briggs continues to contribute to the public through his service on various boards and commissions, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: THAT, this Board on behalf of itself, the District and the public it serves herewith cites and expresses its greatest appreciation to Terry W. Briggs for his eighteen years of exemplary service as Director of Public Affairs for the District. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this expression be presented to Mr. Briggs by the Board and staff. The foregoing Resolution was adopted November 14, 2001
