Town of Leesburg Launches Online Personal Property Tax
Payment Option
Taxpayers can view and pay their personal property tax bills online
Leesburg, VA (August 26, 2013) – In a concerted effort to continue to provide Leesburg
taxpayers with more online account information and convenient payment methods, the Town
of Leesburg is pleased to announce the availability of personal property tax information and
billing online. Through the customer self-service portal, Leesburg taxpayers can view and pay
their personal property tax bills. A convenience fee of 2.85% of the total transaction amount,
with a minimum fee of $3.95, is applied each time the service is used. The Town receives no
portion of this fee.
Approximately 43,000 personal property tax bills will be mailed out during the first week of
September 2013. In addition to the tax due on personal property, residents also pay a $25
annual license fee often referred to as the “decal fee”. Residents are reminded that they
should not remove the Town-issued permanent decals from their vehicles.
