Police Personnel Board
Minutes— October 5, 2017
The meeting was called to order at 12:05pm.
Eight persons attended as follows:

Following greetings, roll call was taken.
Approval of September 7, 2017 minutes
It was moved by Klindt and seconded by Dickman that the minutes for the September 7, 2017 Board meeting be
approved. The motion was carried unanimously.
New Business
Vacancies – Chief Schroeder announced that currently there is one opening for police officer.
Lt. Stiefermann stated that there were 57 applications for Police Officer, and out of these, 28 signed up to take the
written test. A total of 18 of these applicants showed up to take the test with eight passing the test. The eight who
passed were moved on to the physical fitness portion of the testing process.
Lt. Stiefermann stated that there were 54 applications for Communications Operators, and out of these, 20 signed up to
take the written test. A total of seven of these applicants showed up to take the test with all seven passing.
Chief Schroeder and Lt. Stiefermann discussed the low attendance for testing briefly and the need to communicate to
the applicants to find out reasons they didn’t show up on test days. Ms. Trittler stated that she has sent out
correspondence to all of the original applicants with a survey and various questions relating to the test sign up and
dates.
At 12:15, Sgt. Jason Miles joined the meeting; he was asked by Lt. Stiefermann to come and describe in detail to the
Board the Physical Fitness portion of this testing and the categories in which they are tested on and what the scores
mean. Sgt. Miles has completed Federal Law Enforcement Training and currently manages the Physical Fitness portion
of the police officer testing for the department; he answered all of the questions from the board members present.
Once all questions were answered, Sgt. Miles left the meeting at approximately 12:30p.m.
Begin Closed Session (see closed minutes for details)
A motion was made by Burton and seconded by Lehman at 12:34 pm for the Police Personnel Board to go into closed
session pursuant to RSMo.610-021; the motion passed.

End Closed Session
A motion was made by Dickman and seconded by Klindt for the Police Personnel Board to come out of closed session at
1:05pm; the motion passed. Roll call was as follows:

Next meeting – Nov 2, 2017
It was moved by Lehman and seconded by Dickman for adjournment. The meeting was adjourned at 1:07 p.m.
