WHEREAS, Thomas W. Purcell served as Chair of The Metropolitan St.
Louis Sewer District Board of Trustees from July 1, 2000 until June 30, 2001, and
WHEREAS, during his tenure as Chair, Mr. Purcell's leadership and
diplomacy proved invaluable to his fellow Board members and to the District's
staff in deciding many difficult issues confronting them, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Purcell remains a tireless advocate of the District,
promoting it and the important environmental service it provides to St. Louis
whenever and wherever possible, and
WHEREAS, his experience and skill in dealing with the public was
demonstrated throughout his tenure as Chair and continues as a Trustee, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Purcell's service as District Chair and Board member
is just one of many civic and charitable contributions he makes to this
community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
THAT, this Board on behalf of itself, the District and its people, and
the citizens it serves, herewith wishes to express its thanks and gratitude for a job
well done to Thomas W. Purcell for his service as Chair of The Metropolitan St.
Louis Sewer District Board of Trustees for Fiscal Year 2001.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in a display of its appreciation, a
copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Purcell during a Board meeting.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted July 12, 2001.
