Bullett Consulting Becomes First Business in Leesburg’s New
HUBZone to Receive Federal Certification
Leesburg, VA (August 29, 2013) – Bullett Consulting, LLC, recently became the first business in
Leesburg’s HUBZone to receive HUBZone Certification from the federal government.
Located in the Mason Enterprise Center (MEC) in downtown Leesburg, Bullett Consulting
provides information technology and cybersecurity services, with a focus on strategic planning
to drive clients’ competitive advantages. For more information, please visit
www.bullettconsulting.com.
“The HUBZone certification is important for more than just the inside track to government
contracts,” commented owner Robert Bullett. “It provides job opportunities to residents in the
HUBZone, expanding the workforce in Leesburg. Certification also allows me to introduce
others to a rewarding career in IT by teaching skills that are in high demand while providing
value to my clients.”
The HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) program was created in 1997 to
promote economic development and employment growth in distressed areas. Certified
HUBZone businesses receive competitive advantages and price preferences when vying for
federal contracts. To be certified, a business must have its primary office location in a
HUBZone, must be a small business by SBA standards, must be 51% American-owned and 35%
of its employees must live in a HUBZone. The Leesburg HUBZone is the first, and only, HUBZone
in Loudoun County. For more information, please visit www.leesburgva.gov/hubzone.
