RESOLUTION 2020-70
A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND ADOPT PROPOSED POLICY CHANGES FOR STAFF
VACATION AND SICK LEAVE ACCRUAL AND MANAGEMENT
WHEREAS, The City of Riverdale, Iowa ("City") is a Municipal Corporation, organized and
operating under the laws of the State of Iowa, and;
WHEREAS, with the addition of full-time staff to the City's payroll, there have been some
questions from employees regarding how vacation time is earned and how it can be
used, and;
WHEREAS, the City Administrator is currently conducting a comprehensive review of the
City's employee policies manual for review with members of the City Council and the
public at a later date, and;
WHEREAS, given recent questions regarding the "payout" of accrued vacation time to
an employee, greater specificity on the City's vacation and sick leave policies are
required now, and;
WHEREAS, the City Administrator and Mayor have modified the current policies for
review and approval by the City Council at this time (see attached Exhibit "A").
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERDALE, IOWA,
Section 1. That the City Council of Riverdale, Iowa approves the proposed policies
with regard to Vacation and Sick Leave for all City Staff (full-time and part-time).
