WHEREAS, Ellen Harshman served on the Board of Trustees of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District from June 2005 to March 2009, having held the position of
Chairman of the Board from May 2008 through October 2008, and
WHEREAS, Ms. Harshman’s strong leadership, knowledge and expertise
imparted direction and stability to the District, and
WHEREAS, Ms. Harshman’s contribution as Chair of the Stakeholders
Committee, Personnel/MWBE Committee, Intergovernmental Relations Committee, and Audit
Committee assured a continued diligent focus on the District’s fiscal matters, and
WHEREAS, Ms. Harshman’s contributions to the St. Louis Community reach far
beyond her service on the District’s Board, including, but not limited to, serving on the
St. Mary’s Hospital Community Board, as well as an appointments to the Beta Gamma Sigma
Board of Trustees, the honor society for accredited business schools, and the Maintenance of
Accreditation Committee for the Association of the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of
Business, International, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT; THAT, this Board on behalf of itself,
the District and the people it serves, herewith expresses its sincere appreciation and gratitude to
Ellen Harshman for her service on the Board of Trustees and for her many contributions to the
St. Louis Community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, THAT, a copy of this Resolution be presented to
Ms. Harshman in recognition of her service and accomplishment.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted April 9, 2009.
