Minutes of the Wednesday,Nov.7,2012 meeting
4:00 pm in Meeting Room B,Brewster Town Hall
The meeting was called to order at 4:01 PM by Norm Adams,Chair.
Members present: Norm Adams,Janet Husband,Jennie Mignone and Walter Powers
Non-members present: Video Services Coordinator James Paul Ludwig, Town Administrator
Charlie Sumner and Town Treasurer Lisa Souve
Town Administrator Charlie Sumner and Lisa Souve distributed spreadsheets showing
Brewster's cable TV account projected income and expenses through the second quarter of
2015. With the passage of Article 4 on the Fall Town Warrant,there will be$276,000 in the
Cable TV account. LCCAT will get 47%of that($129,000). The remainder can cover James Paul's
salary plus about$86,000 which could go toward the planning and installation of a town wide I-
net to be hooked up to the Open Cape project when it is ready.
Discussion followed and clarified the financial picture of the money that comes to the town
from Comcast.
Janet Husband moved and Walter Powers seconded the motion that the Brewster Cable TV
Advisory Committee endorse the planning and construction of the town's I-net using these
funds. Vote: 4 yes,0 no,0 abstentions. The motion passed.
There was a discussion of the appropriateness of airing a program entitled"No on Question 2:
on Channel 99. Clarity of LCCAT's signal is still a problem,but Garrett is having an independent
contractor test it(as recommended by James Paul Ludwig). Reorganization of the LCCAT board
was questioned.
Janet Husband moved and Norm Adams seconded a motion to allow James Paul to employ
assistants in the production of Brewster oral history programs. Vote: 4 yes,0 no,0 abstentions.
The motion passed.
The next meeting was set for Wednesday, December 7 at 4 pm.
Janet Husband moved and Walter Powers seconded the motion to adjourn.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:59 pm.
