Minutes of the Wednesday,Dec.5,2012 meeting
4:00 pm in Meeting Room B, Brewster Town Hall
The meeting was called to order at 4:02 PM by Norm Adams,Chair.
Members present: Norm Adams,Janet Husband and Walter Powers
Non-members present: Video Services Coordinator James Paul Ludwig
Draft minutes of the Oct.3,2012 and Nov. 7,2012 were distributed by Janet Husband. Walter
Powers moved and Norm Adams seconded the motion to accept the minutes as written. Vote:
3 yes,0 no,0 abstentions. The motion passed.
Jennie Mignone arrived at 4:08 PM.
Committee members voiced their disappointment that the transmission of Channel 99 to
Brewster has not been improved—the picture is still fuzzy. It was also noted that many
programs seem to lack titles and/or credits, making it difficult for viewers to know what they are
watching. One show featuring the High school principal and two health/gym instructors was
excellent in content, but use of the virtual background was very amateurish. Also, it seems that
regular programs are being interrupted by PSAs.
Committee members continue to be pleased with James Paul Ludwig's work and Channel 18.
There followed a discussion of possible actions that the Brewster Cable TV Advisory Committee
might take to encourage LCCAT to make production improvements and to remedy faults
mentioned above. Janet Husband moved and Walter Powers seconded the motion that the
BCTVAC requests Town Counsel to review the contract between the town and LCCAT to identify
the town's rights to impose standards of performance and quality control measures. Vote: 4
yes,0 no,0 abstentions. The motion passed.
LCCAT Board of Directors members(Norm Adams,Janet Husband and Jennie Mignone)are
looking forward to the Board training session scheduled for Sat.,Dec. 15,2012. They further
agreed that an agenda and previous meeting minutes should be distributed a week prior to
regular scheduled Board meetings.
The next meeting was set for Wednesday,January 9,2013 at 4 PM.
Janet Husband moved and Walter Powers seconded the motion to adjourn.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:55 PM.
