HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-19-1965PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING -- July 19, 1965 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Robert Roehl. Members present: Anne Dorweiler, James Adams, Robert Roehl. The minutes of the June 21, 1965, meeting were read. James Adams made the motion that the minutes be accepted as read. Anne Dorweiler seconded the motion. The motion was carried. The Public Hearing was opened. Mayor Scott gave the background and reasons for the Public Hearing. The Hussman Addition was discussed. The Platting Ordinance was discussed. Mr. Carter suggested that the definition of Subdivision be changed and that building permits for new homes be issued only where the lots front on a public street and where the minimum frontage meets all other platting requirements. Anne Dorweiler made the motion to change the Platting Code, Section 30 Article 6, definition of subdivision so that the average width be 200 feet. James Adams seconded the motion. The motion was carried. James Adams made the motion that the Council meet with the Attorney and investigate all possibilities of controlling the metes and bounds of tracts of land and to investigate the legal feasibility of requiring all big divisions to pet council approval. Anne Dorweiler seconded the motion. The motion was carried. Anne Dorweiler made the motion that the meeting be adjourned. James Adams seconded the motion. The motion was carried.
