Minutes • • MOTION by Paul Ruchinskas to approve Minutes of April 11, 2012 as presented Second by Jeanne Boehm. VOTE: 6-0-0 - - " - 2. Open Space Discussion Update • State Requirement for an Open Space Plan • Done every 5 years • Could cost $10,000-$15,000, get 2-3 quotes • If not done you can not apply for state grants • Current copy done in 2007 3. Glass Plate Negatives Update • Meet with Town Counsel soon 4. Town Meeting Discussions • Article 36 (McClellan) 1. Working group must be established 2. Hire a consultant 3. Schedule a work session 4. Recreation Commission voted unanimously NOT to support this 5. Without a credible recreation use it doesn't seem to be a go 6. Elliot will talk with Charlie Sumner and Chris Miller 5. Other Projects 1. Spruce Hiii- • Possible relocation of interior of Apothecary Shop • Will measure and check to see if it can be taken apart a Possible freeze on funding removed; that is what funds were allocated for Need to hire someone to move this Steven Jones will submit a written proposal and a budget (ask to formally unfreeze the funds). Historical Society is requesting a 2 year limit on this project CPC Minutes 05-09-12 revised Page 1 of 2 2. Mill Dam Restoration • Ellen St. Sure brought up concern regarding the "facing" of the dam. She said there were some inquiries as to what it will look like. • Faced with stone as described in the plan • Specific state specifications • Real rock veneer • Dam itself will be concrete; Mass Historic requirement • Nothing on the backside • 1968 was the last time it was repaired 6. Open Space Recorder • Elizabeth Taylor requested a new recording/tablet device for Open Space Professional Administrative Service MOTION by Roland Bassett to authorize up to $800.00 for purchase of a recording device from Open Space Administrative Funds Second by Martin Kamark VOTE: 7-0-0 2. Crosby Mansion • Elizabeth Taylor will contact Ginny Locke for June meeting 3. Informational • Recreation Commission is looking for a parcel for multi-use facility; skateboarding, basketball and open fields 4. Other • Historic Commission possible projects; a. exploratory committee b.
