SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

1 CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS The meeting was called to order
by the Mayor at 9 00 a m Present were Councilmembers Luis de la Cruz Allison McCormick
Brett G Moss Kathleen Petros and Vice Mayor Franklin H Caplan and Mayor Mayra P
Lmdsay Also present were Village Manager John C Gilbert and Village Attorney Chad
Friedman Councilmember Gary R Gross was not present
2 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Mayor led the Pledge of Allegiance
3 PUBLIC COMMENTS There were no speakers present
4 MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBERS The Attorney addressed the Council regardmg
the transition from Village Manager John C Gilbert to the newly contracted Village Manager
Andrea Agha
At this time Village Manager John C Gilbert addressed the Council requesting an amendment to
his existing contract to convert the employment status to a Senior Advisor to the newly hired
Village Manager Andrea Agha consistent with the same existing contractual terms and
conditions
There was extensive discussion by Council regarding the transition process from Village
Manager John C Gilbert to the newly hired Village Manager Andrea Agha
At this time the Attorney read the following resolution by title
July 6, 2018
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY
BISCAYNE, FLORIDA APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO JOHN C. GILBERT'S
EMPOLOYMENT AGREEMENT, PROVIDING FOR AUTHGORIZATION AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
The Attorney addressed the Council regarding amending John C. Gilbert's employment
agreement's status to a Senior Advisor to the Village Manager as of August 13, 2018 to
September 30, 2018.
Mayor Lindsay made a motion to approve the resolution. The motion was seconded by Vice
Mayor Caplan.
The resolution was approved by a 6-0 roll call vote. The vote was as follows: Councilmembers
de la Cruz, McCormick, Moss, Petros, Vice Mayor Caplan and Mayor Lindsay voting Yes.
5. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 9:24 a.m.
