Minutes

I. Pledge of Allegiance
II. Call to Order; Roll Call
Mayor William Dory called the meeting to order at 4:30 PM; upon roll by Clerk
Treasurer Lynda Dunbar the following were present: William Dory, Trudy Selvia
and Craig Tuggle.
III. Special Requests
A. Sewer Leak Adjustment- Humphrey's Outdoor Power- $1,112.02-
Motion by Trudy Selvia to approve the adjustment in the amount of$1,112.02,
second by Craig Tuggle, 3-0, motion carried.
IV. Approval of Minutes
A. Regular Session —August 19, 2020
Motion by Trudy Selvia to approve regular session as presented, second by
Craig Tuggle, 3-0, motion carried.
V. Approval of Claims
A. Water-Motion by Craig Tuggle to accept the Water Claims in the amount of
$84,530.53 second by Trudy Selvia, 3-0, motion carried.
B. Wastewater-Motion by Trudy Selvia to accept the Wastewater Claims in the
amount of$80,967.72, second by Craig Tuggle, 3-0, motion carried.
VI. Department Reports
A. Fire Department— John Burgess
B. Planner— Scott Zimmerman
C. Police Department—Tom Sutherlin
D. Department of Public Works — Brad Phillips
E. Water &Wastewater Department— Oscar King
F. City Attorney - Laurie Robertson Hardwick
G. Park and Recreation — Rod Weinschenk
VII. Old Business- None
VIII. New Business
A. Change Order for Wayfinding Project- Motion by Trudy Selvia to
approve Change Order No. 2 as presented, second by Craig Tuggle, 3-0,
motion carried. Change Order No. 3 was tabled until it was compared with
the original contract.
C. Contract to Replace Water Main on Eagle Court- Motion by Craig Tuggle
to approve the water main contract on Eagle Court with a not to exceed
amount of$8,750.00, second by Trudy Selvia, 3-0, motion carried.
D. Water Tower Report— The water tower report was presented to the BOW.
Only minor items were found at this time which the utility department will
begin addressing.
E. Water Rate Discussion- Mayor shared with the BOW that the water utility
may be eligible for a $700,000 grant with OCRA for water
improvements. Craig Tuggle would like to know the impact of water
revenues if Tier 1 only increased by ten percent, and Tiers 2 and 3 were
increased at only 50 percent of the needed amount in years one and two.
Clerk Treasurer Lynda Dunbar said she could provide that information in a
few days. No formal action taken.
IX. Adjournment
Motion by Trudy Selvia to dismiss at 5:32 PM, second Craig Tuggle,
3-0, motion carried.
