August 21, 2012
Present: Daryl Bladen, Chair, Denise Rego, Director, Diane Richards,
Bob Deloye, Evelyn Donnelly, Loretta Ruchinskas,
and Dan Rabold, Selectman Liaison
Absent: Suzanne Dean, Bill Mageean, Barbara Slagle
Meeting called to order at 1:02pm by Daryl Bladen, Chairperson.
No minutes for July since no meeting was held.
Denise met with Elder Services, re: staff person having hip surgery.
Denise met with various Town Staff and Community Representatives
regarding an ongoing problem with a senior whose home is now declared
unsafe.
Signage was put on doors at the COA at the request of the Brewster Fire
Dept.
Membership of Cape COAST working on a one-day conference at the
Woodlands.
Date for Flu Clinic has not been decided.
Twenty-five bags of food were distributed to elders in need.
Denise has reapplied for $4000.00 from Elder Services for mileage
reimbursement for volunteer drivers.
Administrative proposals, re: Job classification and updating. Reviews are
being done.
Position of Volunteer Coordinator has been created. Currently four
applications have been received.
Denise in working with other Directors has learned of more items that can be
included under the Formula Grant.
Volunteers needed for F.O.B.E.'s Septe mber 5th Annual picnic
Discussion of Senior Volunteer Property Tax Abatement Program.
The next Council On Aging Meeting is sc hedU ed for Tum day, Septe tuber
18, 2012 at 1:00 PM.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:05pm.
