A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING AN ADDENDUM TO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CAL-CARD
PURCHASING PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
THE ADDENDUM ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, the State of California implemented the Cal-Card Purchase
Card Program in July of 1994; and
WHEREAS, various local municipalities have implemented the program and
experienced excellent results; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood would like to take advantage of the
benefits provided by the program, one of which is the opportunity for cash rebates;
and
WHEREAS, the City would like to begin with a pilot program with selected
volunteers who have varied activities and are willing to adhere to strict testing
procedures. If the pilot program provides excellent results, it can be extended to
other departments.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
find, order, and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the addendum to the agreement with the State of
California (Exhibit "A") for the City of Lynwood to participate in the Cal-Card
Program is approved.
Section 2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute the Addendum to State
of California Purchase Card Program Master Services Agreement.
Section 3. That this resolution shall become effective immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 2"d day of September, 2008.
