Town staff to highlight planned improvements to downtown streetscape
Leesburg, VA (September 27, 2013) – On Wednesday, October 2, 2013, Town of Leesburg staff will
host two “walks” of King Street, from Cornwall Street to Loudoun Street, to discuss the Downtown
Improvement Project. These informational walks will be held at 9:00am and 5:30pm.
During the walks, staff will provide details of the King Street portion of the Downtown Improvements
Project. In intention of the walk is to help stakeholders visualize the improvements and changes to the
downtown pedestrian environment. Exact locations and limits of proposed elements, such as the
widened sidewalk, loading/parking areas, streetlights, street trees and the mid-block crosswalk, will be
visually defined for walk participants.
The morning walk will meet at 8:45 am in the lobby of Town Hall and proceed to King Street from there.
The afternoon walk will meet at 5:15 in the lobby of Town Hall. Each walk will take approximately one
hour, and questions will be encouraged.
