STRATEGIC PLANNING PRESENTATION
TUESDAY, MAY 22, 2012

The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 6:06 p.m. Present were Councilmembers Michael
W. Davey, Enrique Garcia, Mayra P. Lindsay, James S. Taintor, Vice Mayor Michael E. Kelly and
Mayor Franklin H. Caplan. Councilmember Robert Gusman was absent. Also present were Village
Manager John C. Gilbert, Village Clerk Conchita H. Alvarez and Village Attorney Chad Friedman.
The Manager introduced Dr. Howard Frank, Dr. James McGuire and Ms. Jeanette Kerland Jacques
from the FIU Metropolitan Center. Dr. Frank made a presentation to the Council and the public
regarding Strategic Planning.
There was discussion from Council regarding the Strategic Planning Presentation and how to
implement it.
Dr. Howard recommended to conduct a random phone survey of the residents. It was the consensus
of Council to go ahead and do the phone survey to find out what the residents think how their
government is doing.
The survey will be presented to the Council, before it is conducted.

THE APPEAL IS TO BE BASED.
