A quorum was present. The Cemetery Resources Board met on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Thomas Jefferson Room, lower level of the John G. Christy Municipal Building, 320 E. McCarty Street, Jefferson City, Missouri. Approval of the Minutes: A motion was made for approval of the minutes from the February 15, 2018 meeting by Tim Theroff, Dawn Hackman seconded. Minutes were approved. Old Business: The Historic Walking Tour was discussed between board members. Nancy discussed individuals that will be helping with representing the interred people in Old City Cemetery and Woodland Cemetery. Flyers were distributed for members to pass out. Nancy also talked about which schools information would be sent to about the event. Nancy went down a list of items that are needed for the event and who would be responsible for obtaining them. Discussion occurred between board members on when to place the information signs out for each grave. It was decided to do this task on Saturday morning, April 21st. Nancy let board members look at the QR Codes she created for the cemetery tombstones. Tim Theroff Minutes of the City of Jefferson Cemetery Resources Board March 15, 2018 pg. 2 mentioned it would be a good idea to place information on the flyer next time on how to obtain the QR Code Reader for people attending the event. Nancy discussed the progress she completed on the National Historic Registry Application. She stated the Michelle Diedrich, Missouri Department of Natural Resources, is helping her with the application. David Grellner stated the Sara Walker project has not progressed, but will check with Capital Monuments to see the status of the project so it is ready for the Walking Tour. They may be waiting on good, dry weather before they set the gravestone. The management agreement between the City of Jefferson and Historic City of Jefferson has been signed by both parties and is now in effect. New Business: Nancy stated she had seen workers from the Missouri Office of Administration working in the cemetery. David Grellner reported that he had contacted Cathy Brown, Facilities Director with the State of Missouri, to ask for assistance in re -doing the landscaping on the State Lot in Woodland Cemetery. David Grellner stated a cedar tree had broken in half in Longview Cemetery. A contractor is going to remove the tree and grind the stump this week. Nancy also discussed a possible grant to do restoration training in the cemeteries. Other Topics and Issues: The next Cemetery Resources Board meeting was set for Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Thomas Jefferson Conference Room at City Hall.
