A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING THE CDBG
CONSOLIDATED PLAN, ONE YEAR ACTION PLAN
FOR FISCAL YEAR 1996-97
WHEREAS, the United States Housing and Community
Development Act of 1977, as amended, established the Community
Development Block Grant Program to provide decent housing, a
suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities,
principally for persons of low and moderate income; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban
Development has made CDBG funds available in the amount of
$943,000, for fiscal year 1996-97 and when this amount is
combined with program carryover ($300,000) and program income
($200,000) it increases the total amount available for CDBG
activities to $1,443,000.; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council anr~ the Commu;:,~.i~c~~
Development Block Grant Advisory Board Commission (CDBGAF3) has
`:onducted the required Public Hearings to obtain citizen input on
tote 1996-97 CDBG Draft Consolidated Plan One Year Action Plan and
has taken public comments into consideration; and
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby find, determine, order and resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The Consolidated Plan One Year Action Plan
and CDBG application for fiscal year 1996-97, are approved.
SECTION 2. This resolution authorizes the required
submittal to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 7 day of May,
1996.
