HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 05-07 Building Permit FeesRESOLUTION 05-07 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF McCALL, IDAHO ADOPTING INCREASED FEES TO BE CHARGED FOR BUILDING PERMITS AND RELATED INSPECTIONS AND FEES, PROVIDING FOR RELATED MATTERS; AND, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Section 2-1-130 of the McCall City Code grants the authority of the City Council to establish a schedule of permit fees charged by the City related to building; and WHEREAS, the City Council last adopted a schedule of such fees on August 28, 2003; and WHEREAS, the fee schedule for building permits, plan review fees, and related services, which has remained the same since 1994, is no longer adequate to reimburse the costs incurred by the City for reviewing, inspecting and processing applications for building permits and related building plan review; and WHEREAS, notice of the proposed increased fees was published in the Star News, a newspaper of general circulation within the City, on April 28, 2005 and May 5, 2005, and a public hearing was held on the proposed increased fees on May 12, 2005, 2005, all as required by law; and WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that it is in the best interest of the owners of property and of the inhabitants within the City to increase the existing fees as set forth below. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of McCall, Valley County, Idaho, as follows: Section 1: That the following schedule of fees be adopted for all applications for building permits, related building plan review, reinspections, and the use of outside consultants for specialty plan checking, inspection or both: Total Valuation Building Permit Fee $1.00 to $500.00 $23.50 $501.00 to $2,000.00 $23.50 for the first $500.00 plus $3.00 for each additional $100.00 or fraction thereof, to and including $2,000.00 $2,001.00 to $25,000.00 $69.25 for the first $2,000.00 plus $14.00 for each additional $1,000.00, or fraction thereof, to and including $25,000.00 $25,001.00 to $50,000.00 $391.75 for the first $25,000.00 plus $10.00 for each additional $1,000.00, or fraction thereof, to and including $50,000.00 $50,001.00 to $100,000.00 $643.75 for the first $50,000.00 plus $7.00 for each additional $1,000.00, or fraction thereof, to and including $100,000.00 $100,001.00 to $500,000.00 $993.75 for the first $100,000.00 plus $5.50 for each additional $1,000.00, or fraction thereof, to and including $500,000.00 $500,000.00 to $1,000,000.00 $3,233.75 for the first $500,000.00 plus $4.75 for each additional $1,000.00, or fraction thereof, to and including $1,000,000.00 $1,000,001.00 and up $5,608.75 for the first $1,000,000.00 plus $3.50 for each additional $1,000.00, or fraction thereof Other Inspections and Fees Plan Check Fee (Required for all permits) 65% of Building Permit Fee Re -inspection Fee $85 per additional inspection Use of outside consultants for specialty plan checking, inspections, or both Actual cost plus 10 percent Section 2: After its passage and approval, this resolution and schedule of permit fees is effective June 1, 2005.
