RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROPRIATING FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED
GENERAL FUND BALANCE TO BE USED TO PROVIDE MEALS TO THE SENIOR
CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood has provided a luncheon meal to
its senior citizens at the Lynwood Community Center, 3798 Martin
Luther King Jr. Boulevard Monday through Friday between the hours
of 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon since 1980; and
'-, WHEREAS, nearly seventy-five (75) meals are served on a daily
basis; and
WHEREAS, these meals have been funded through the County of
Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, we have been notified that the County will no longer
be able to provide the funding for our particular sites due to
budgetary cutbacks; and
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Lynwood at their
regularly scheduled meeting of Tuesday, June 18, 1996 (by a 4/5
vote) approved a motion to hear the matter concerning the budget
cuts to the Lynwood Senior Citizens Meals Program; and
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Lynwood also approved
a motion directing staff to do whatever was necessary to keep the
meals program open and operating; and
WHEREAS, the cost to keep the program operating for the
1996/97 fiscal year will be approximately ($15,000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF

LYNWOOD AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby
authorizes the City Manager or his designee to implement all
financial transactions as approved by this resolution.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby
authorizes the following budget transfer:
