Stephanie Kelly-The Samaritans on Cape Cod &the Islands-discussion on preventing suicide in the elderly Ms. Kelly was not able to attend. NI will see if she can come to the July meeting. 2. Discuss and possibly vote on the Regulation Restricting the Sale and Use of Tobacco Products&Nicotine Delivery Products There was discussion on this issue and a few minor changes made. NI will ask the Town Administrator if this needs to be reviewed by Town Counsel since it was drafted by the staff attorney at MAHB. 3. Discuss Regulation Prohibiting Smoking in Workplaces and Public Places There was discussion on this issue and a few minor changes made. A public hearing in July will be held. 4. Discuss letter from Deborah Blackman Jacobs re: smoking on beaches Ms. Blackman Jacobs read her statement to the Board with regards to banning smoking on beaches. There was discussion on how there is not a lot of evidence to support this change. The Board chose not to act on this at this time. 5. Discuss and possibly vote on the Private Hauler Recycling Regulation There was discussion on the proposed regulation. Shawn Delude, Nauset Disposal and Bill Sullivan both spoke about how the Town is trying to mandate the costs that they charge their customers and the fact that the Town does not allow the private trash haulers to dispose of anything at the Brewster Transfer Station. The Board talked about that fact and agreed to take"All refuse haulers and/or persons collecting trash in the Town of Brewster providing subscription service to households or businesses located or based in Brewster must provide trash and recycling services in a single bundled price"out of the regulation. Motion: Adopt the regulation with the deletion of the"singles bundled price"sentence. JF seconded. 4 yes. 6. Discuss changes to Refuse and Transfer Station Regulation There was discussion on changes that needed to be made to this regulation. Bob Bersin, DPW Superintendent was present to help with any questions. He asked the Board when they wanted to start enforcing this regulation. He was told that this is a regulation that already exists and should have been being enforced all along. This will be brought up again at another meeting. Comments were made by the Board with regards to what is going on to the website. The Board thought it would be a good idea to go through all the regulations to see if any changes need to be made before they are put on the website. They will go through 3 or 4 of them at each work meeting. 8. Health Director's objectives update/review JH asked NI to write down the steps she has taken to meet her goals and to update with new objectives. 9. Discuss Planning Board application for Lot 7 Independence Way Noted. Informational items were noted. JH spoke about the email from Dan Rabold with regards to Dog Parks. MC spoke about what she thought was needed for a dog park. JH asked MC if she would be willing to write a memo with her ideas and send it to her and with the consensus of the Board, give it to the Board of Selectmen. Meeting adjourned at 9:40PM lta } Z °d
