A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE USE OF
LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANTS PROGRAM FUNDS AND
AiJTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE
TO P~~KE THE NECESSARY FUND APPROPRIATION
AND TP.ANSFERS.
WHEREAS, the City is eligible to apply for the Local.
Law Erif'or,cement BJ_ock ^Grants (Block Grants) Program funds
established under the ~199`6.Omr~ibus Appropriation Act; and
W1IEREAS, on June 28, 1996 the City Council appointed
the Lynwood Partnership Coalition (LPC) as its advisory board for
the Block Gy~ants; and
WHEREAS, on July 16, 1996 the City Council, approved
the LPC recommendations and authorized the submittal of the grant
application; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing is required to obtain citizen
input on the use of i:he Block Grants; and
WHEREAS, as part o:~ the Block Crand r.equirernents, the
City must provide for a 10 o matching sYiare of the total. ~~r_oject
c:.~sts, or $44, "115 . Q0; and
WHEREAS, $20,000 for the match has already been
budgeted for .in the FY 1996-97 budget far the purchase of another
vehicle; and
WHF'REAS, tl.e remaining matching .funds of $24, 115 wi11.
be used for project administration and supervision and. needs, to
be appropriated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Lynwood as follows:
Section 1. Notice is given hereby that a public hearing
will be held by the City of Lynwood on August 20, 1996, at the
hour of 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of the City Hall,
11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California, to receive citizen input
on the proposed use of the Local. Law Enforcement Block Program
funds.
Section 2; That the City Manager or his designee is
authorized to make the fallowing funds appropriation and
transfers:
