GOALS AND OBJECTIVES WORKSHOP

The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 6 16 p m Present were Councilmembers Carol
Diaz -Castro, Mortimer Fned, James L Peters, Robert L Vernon, Vice Mayor Jorge Mendia and
Mayor Robert Oldakowski Councilmembers Martha F Broucek was absent Also present were
Village Manager Jacqueline R Menendez, Village Clerk Conchita H Alvarez and Village Attorney
Stephen P Helfman
Professor Dario Moreno led the Pledge of Allegiance
The Mayor welcomed everyone to the "Vision 2004" workshop
The following staff was also present Assistant Manager Ana de Varona, Assistant to the
Manager Maite Miyares, Director of Building, Zoning and Planning Jud Kurlancheek, Chief
Building Official Eugenio Santiago, Public Safety Department Director John C Gilbert,
Deputy Chief of Fire Rescue Franklin Barron, Deputy Chief of Police Cathy McElhaney,
Public Works Director Armando Nunez, Parks and Recreation Director Todd Hofferberth
and Finance Department Director Randolph White
Ms Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, Dean, School of Architecture University of Miami addressed the
Council and the public regarding strategic planning

A power point presentation "Vision 2004 - Village of Key Biscayne" was made by Dr Dario Moreno
and Dr Kevin Hill, Metropolitan Center, Florida International University
Director Nunez addressed the Council and the public regarding Sanitary Sewers, Director
Kurlancheek addressed the Council and the public regarding Beautification and Director Hofferberth
addressed the Council and the public regarding Playing Fields
The following residents addressed the Council Max Puyanic, 487 S Mashta, John Festa,
695 Harbor Lane, Willie Borroto, 220 Harbor Dnve, Henny Groschel-Becker, 290 West
Mashta Dnve, Luis de la Cruz, 640 Allendale Dnve, Bob Cuevas, 380 Woodcrest Road,
Michele Estevez, Ramon Rodnguez, Ed Stone, 145 Hampton Lane, Ed Meyer, 100 Sunrise
Dnve, Andy Gordon, 269 Cranwood Dnve, Bonnie Cooper, 77 Crandon Boulevard, Alan
H Fein, 525 Allendale Road, Veronica Scharf, 445 Grand Bay Dnve, Manny Cambo, 621
Harbor Dnve, Pat Weinman, 940 Manner Dnve
Resolution 2003-5 adopting the 2003 Goals and Objectives was presented to the Council for their
information
A schedule of future meetings and events was presented to the Council
The meeting was adjourned at 8 40 p m
