HomeMy Public PortalAboutTOL PR 2013-11-04 Charity Dance and Food Drive (CORRECTED) Town of Leesburg News Release For Immediate Release Leesburg Parks & Recreation Department Hosts 8th Annual Charity Dance and Food Drive on Friday, November 15, 2013 Proceeds to benefit Loudoun Interfaith Relief Leesburg, VA (November 4, 2013) –The Town of Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with Loudoun Interfaith Relief to offer its 8th annual charity dance and food drive at Ida Lee Recreation Center on Friday, November 15, 2013, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. The Charity Dance is a free event. Donations of non-perishable food and goods will be collected in lieu of admission to be distributed through Loudoun Interfaith Relief. Monetary donations will also be accepted. “We’re very proud of this tradition of offering a way for people to reach out to those who are in need of assistance during the holidays,” explained Rich Williams, Director of Leesburg’s Parks and Recreation Department. “We encourage everyone to come enjoy a night of dancing and do a world of good.” The three hour event starts at 7:00pm with an introductory lesson. Mixed dancing will begin at 8:00pm and run until 10:00pm. Dance exhibitions will be given by Jason Conrad (an instructor at Ida Lee) and students from the Ida Lee dance programs. Beginners are welcome to come and try the various dances. This event is suitable for both singles and couples. Casual dress is appropriate. Loudoun Interfaith Relief is the largest and only nutritious food pantry in Loudoun County. They serve local clients by providing the food necessary to prepare three balanced meals a day for three days for any size family.
