HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-24-01 Recreation Center Workshop.tifMINUTES RECREATION CENTER WORKSHOP VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2001 COUNCIL CHAMBER 85 WEST MCINTYRE STREET, SECOND FLOOR The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 8 11 p m Present were Councilmembers Scott Bass (amved at 9 25 p m ), Martha F Broucek, Alan H Fein, Robert Oldakowski, James L Peters and Mayor Joe I Rasco Vice Mayor Mortimer Fned was absent Also present were Village Manager C Samuel Kissinger Village Clerk Conchita H Alvarez and Village Attorney David Wolpin The Mayor welcomed the public to the workshop to discuss the Village's Recreation Center The Mayor introduced Todd Hofferberth, Recreation Director Director Hofferberth addressed the Council introducing Mr Ken Ballard who gave a visual presentation on the operation plan for the Recreation Center The following staff members were also present Chief of Fire Rescue John C Gilbert, Deputy Chief of Police Cathy McElhaney and Director of Building, Zoning and Planning Jud Kurlancheek Also present were Robert G Currie, the Recreation Center architect and Michael Lanciault from James A Cummings, Inc constructor for the project 1 of October 24 2001 The following residents participated in the discussion Elaine Gross, 211 Island Dnve, Reverend Bob Libby, 200 Ocean Lane Drive, Jay Swindell, 774 Fernwood James Taintor 355 Harbor Drive, Henny Groschel-Becker, 290 West Mashta Dnve, Shirley Feldman, 1121 Crandon Boulevard, Vicky Simons, 269 Cranwood Drive, Camille Guething 260 Seaview Drive Larry Radzville 77 Crandon Boulevard, Isabel Gambino, 676 Ridgewood Road, Bonnie Cooper, 77 Crandon Boulevard, Pat Weinman, 940 Mariner Dnve, Jonathan Ullman, 544 Fernwood Road, Michael King, 745 Fernwood Road, Andy Gordon 269 Cranwood Dnve and Carol Diaz -Castro, 240 Hampton Lane The Mayor announced that another Recreation Workshop will be scheduled in the near future There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11 00 p m Respec(fully submitte Conchita H Alvarez, CMC Village Clerk Approved this Ilth dayyf November, 200 Joe I Rasco Mayor IF A PERSON DECIDES TO APPEAL ANY DECISION MADE BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL WITH RESPECT TO ANY MATTER CONSIDERED AT A MEETING OR HEARING, THAT PERSON WILL NEED A RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS AND, FOR SUCH PURPOSE, MAY NEED TO ENSURE THAT A VERBATIM RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS IS MADE, WHICH RECORD INCLUDES THE TESTIMONY AND EVIDENCE UPON WHICH THE APPEAL IS TO BE BASED 2 of 2
