Resolution 2007-096IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVERMORE STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILWAY DEPOT, LOCATED AT 20-22 SOUTH L STREET, APPROPRIATION OF UP TO 825,000 IN LOW INCOME HOUSING FUNDS (FUND 611) TO AGENCY FUND 580, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN DOCUMENTS The Southern Pacific Railway Depot (Depot) is designated as a historic resource in the Livermore Downtown Specific Plan Historic Resources Inventory. The overall site surrounding the Depot has been severely degraded from its historic configuration, function, and appearance such that no original, contextually relevant, or historical site features remain and the Historic Preservation Commission has provided policy direction that the Depot can be relocated. Relocation of the Depot is necessary to facilitate the redevelopment of anon-conforming and under-utilized neighborhood shopping center. The Depot will be relocated to a site in or around the downtown and preserved as an important historic resource for the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Livermore hereby authorizes entering into a Cooperation Agreement with the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Livermore to loan the Agency the funds to purchase and relocate the Southern Pacific Railway Depot, and authorizes the appropriation of up to $825,000 from Fund 611, Low Income Housing Fund, to Agency Fund 580, for the purchase of the Southern Pacific Railway Depot, 20- 22 South L Street, and related expenses associated with the purchase of the Depot. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager, or her designee, is authorized to sign all necessary documents on behalf of the City of Livermore. On the motion of Councilmember Dietrich, seconded by Vice Mayor Marchand, the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted this 14th day of May, 2007, by the following vote: AYES Councilmembers Dietrich, Leider, Reitter, Vice Mayor Marchand and Mayor Kamena NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None ATTEST: APPROVED AS TO FORM: ITY CLERK SPECIAL COUNSEL RESOLUTION NO. 2007-096
