Publication of said meeting was made according to law. Those in attendance were Mayor Plinor C. Lile, Councilmen Robert Brett, Richard Jamison, Dr. Clark Phillips, and Clerk Treasurer Lorraine Diode. Dr. Melvin Freeman was. also in attendance. The meeting was called to order by the Mayor. `The Preliminary budget as reviewed by the Council on November 7, 1973 has been revised. The revised edition constitutes the final budget proposed for the year 1974. This budget was reviewed item by item throughout its entirety including the Revenue and Expenditures.-Iccounts. Concern was expressed in regard to increased costs, particularly under Police protection. It was determined that the Mayor would write to the City of Medina requesting a copy of their police budget and advise them that the amount per capita requested of $18.02 would be held in abeyance until this information was reviewed and considered by the Council. The possibility of rising costs especially within the Fire, Library and Police catagories in -future years causes a concern as to how long our small. town will. be 'financially capable of handling these expenses. After discussion, Robert Brett made a motion to accept the budget, seconded by Richard Jamison and passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 9:20 P. M. Lorraine M.
