SUSPENSION OF CITY MANAGER AND APPOINTMENT OF INTERIM CITY
MANAGER
WHEREAS, the Employment Agreement between Brian D. Olson, McCall City
Manager and the City of McCall dated December 29, 1997, (the "Agreement") allows for
suspension of the City Manager prior to public hearing upon majority vote of the City Council,
if the City Manager is "named as defendant in a formal criminal complaint.:'. Agreement, page
2, paragraph 7.C; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has been informed that on or about December 21, 1998,
the City Manager has been named in a formal criminal complaint; and
WHEREAS, in an Emergency Special Meeting on December 21, 1998, a majority of
the City Council has voted to suspend the City Manager;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF McCALL, IDAHO as follows:
Section 1: Brian D. Olson, the McCall City Manager, is hereby suspended with pay
and benefits from his duties as City Manager, effectively immediately with the following
conditions:
A. The City Manager shall not set foot on City property during this
suspension;
B. The City Manager shall surrender all City keys, cellular phones,
computers, credit cards, or other City property in the City Manager's possession;
C. The City Manager shall refrain from contacting City employees during
this suspension; and
D. The City Manager shall be present at a meeting of the City Council on
January 7, 1999, at 7:00 p.m., at the McCall City Hall or other designated site.
Section 2: Pursuant to paragraph 7 of the Agreement, a public hearing will be held
to consider suspension of the City Manager.
Section 3: This suspension shall be in effect from the date of signature until the
conclusion of the January 7, 1999 City Council meeting, unless terminated sooner, or extended
by action of the City Council.

Section 4: Pursuant to McCall City Code, section 1-7-040, the City Council hereby
appoints Carla Donica as interim City Manager to perform the duties of City Manager during
the term of this suspension.
Section 5: This Resolution shall take effect and be in force upon its passage and
approval.
