HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-05-96 Traffic Calming Workshop.tifMINUTES VILLAGE COUNCIL WORKSHOP VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 1996 85 WEST MCINTYRE STREET, SECOND FLOOR The meeting was called to order by the mayor at 7:05 p.m. Present were Councilmembers Raul Llorente, Hugh O'Reilly, Betty Sime, Raymond Sullivan and Mayor John Festa. Also present were Village Manager, Samuel Kissinger, Acting Village Clerk Yocelyn Galiano Gomez and Village Attorney Joe Serota. Mayor Festa led the Pledge of Allegiance. The purpose of the workshop was to discuss the Traffic Calming Master Plan and the Stormwater Sewer Construction Project. No changes were made to the agenda. Village Planner Raul Lastra and Mr. Walter Kulash, P.E., a traffic engineer with Glatting, Jackson, Kercher, Anglin and Lopez, presented the Traffic Calming Master Plan to the Council. The following people addressed the Council on the Traffic Calming Master Plan: Servando Parapar 240 Cypress Drive; Roberto Decespedes, 188 West Mashta Drive; Ray Blanco Herrera, 310 Fernwood Road; Conchita Suarez, 201 Crandon Boulevard; Michael Braken, 224 West Mashta Drive; Sam Davitian, 720 Myrtlewood Lane; Martha Broucek, 107 Ocean Lane Drive; Bill Ofgant, 512 Fernwood Road, It was the consensus of the Council that the manager bring back a feasibility study for the Traffic Calming Master Plan which included West Mashta Drive, Harbor Drive and Fernwood Road. 'The mayor adjourned the meeting for ten minutes. Once the meeting was reconvened, the manager introduced Tony Nolan, President of Williams Hatfield and Stoner, the Village's Stormwater Engineers, who gave a status report on the stormwater sewer construction project. Sam Davitian, 720 Myrtlewood Lane addressed the Council on the stormwater construction project.
