HomeMy Public PortalAbout2021 0320 Budget MinutesRIVERDALE BUDGET PUBLIC HEARING PLACE: Riverdale City Hall, iio Manor Drive, Riverdale, Iowa DATE: March 20, 2021 TIME: 7:013 P.M. Please Note: In accordance with Governor Reynolds's disaster decree and under Section 21.8 of the Code of the State of Iowa, this meeting will be held online. To attend this meeting, please visit the City of Riverdale's website (www.riverdaleiowa.com) for attendance instructions. Links to the meeting and instructions for participating /observing the meeting telephonically will be provided on the City's website, posted for public notice and on all available social media channels. WELCOME -CALL TO ORDER -The meeting was called to order at 7:0o pm by Mayor Mike Bawden, ROLL CALL -Council Members Present: DCamp (via online), Adams (via online), Littrel (via online). Absent: Krell and Heddlesten. Also present: Mayor Mike Bawden (via online), City Administrator Kent Royster (via online) and other residents (via online). Mayor Mike Bawden reviewed the FY22 budget proposal with a spreadsheet showing the line by line breakdown of the revenue and expense numbers. He explained each department and their operating costs, including the Fire Department, Road Use Tax, Parks, Contracts, and Capital Projects. A few other items that were discussed include erosion control, Fenno Road project, City entrance signs, Fieldcrest drainage project, and a long-term plan for the Fire Department. Updating the City's comprehensive plan was discussed as well as reparing the apron at the Fire station and the landscaping at City Hall. Residents had questions regarding the Ag land tax in Riverdale. No action was taken at this meeting, but the FY22 budet will be on the agenda for the March 23, 2021 Council Meeting.
