January 5 1942.
Council met in regular session , Mayor Ross presiding and
Okones, Kruse, Luwe and Haack present; -
Minutes of December lst and December 24th were read and on motion
by Luwe, second by Okones, approved as read- motion carried.
It was moved by Okones second. by Luwe that the pay for
scooping snow shall be 35.cents per hour- motion carried..
Treasurers report was read and ordered placed on file.
Mayor Ross reports the appointment of "eye Boomgarden as
night Marshall- approved.
It was moved by Kruse seconded. by Luwe that the council
elect an Assessor for the unexpired term. motion carried.
It was moved as above and that the council vote by ballot,
and that the first ballot be an informal ballot- carried.
The result was as follows; -
For John Lindeman 1 vote
for R W Ross 2 votes
for Albert Geerdes 1 vote
It was now moved by Luwe that we now vote again and that the
person receiving the most votes be declared elected. motion carried.
The reuult was as follows; -
For R W Ross 3 votes
for Albert Geerdes 1 vote
R.W Ross received the highest number of votes was declared
elected .
Mayor R(:,ss read the report of the recent Fire inspection, and
reported several places which needed repairs, which was mentioned
to the property owners, 1,1ith pro mise that they would be fixed up.
The following Bills were presented and on motion by Luwe,
second by Okones ordered paid- motion carried.
