HomeMy Public PortalAbout054-2002 - Grant - US Dept of Justice ORDINANCE NO- 54- 2002 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM WHEREAS, The US Department of Justice Local Law Enforcement Program has grant funding available; and WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Police Department desires to submit a grant application to assist with cost associated with purchasing law enforcement equipment; and WHEREAS, a local match of Five Thousand Nine Hundred Thirty-four Dollars ($5,934.00) is required for this grant. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: 1. The City of Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the US Department of Justice Local Law Enforcement Program to assist with the costs associated with purchasing law enforcement equipment. 2. The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Fifty-three Thousand Four Hundred and Six Dollars ($53,406.00). 3. Said Funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated to assist with the costs associated with purchasing law enforcement equipment.
