REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL BE THE VILLAGE OF MEDINA
AUGUST 1,1961
All members of the council present.
Minutes of the regular meeting of July 5,1961 were read. Motion
by Arens to accept minutes as read, after noting the following,
James Dobozenski appeared before council and stated that the flunk
cars did not befIng to him., Second by Winterhalter, Motion carried.
Minutes of the special meeting held July 18,1961 were read, motion
by Winterhalter, second by Arens to accept minutes as read, Motion
carried. The Road committee reported that work was needed on
Village road # 16 near F J Eckes farm and on the Southeast corner of
the intersection of Road #48 and 08.
Letter from Iver C Dale was read by Scott regardingapplication for
poststion of police officer. Mayor Scott will write Mr Dale details
of position.
Motion by Gertz to grant Lavetta Dosch permission to move a house
across village roads, second by Herb Arens, motion carried.
The building inspector reported that Mr. Steinke has a building permit
but had not posted a bond, he will proceed to procure this bond from
Mr Steinke. Archie Dayon has a building permit, Roger D you has no
building permit, he also reported R. Whettin requested aapermit to
build a 36 x 100 pole barn, the council had no objections as it
would conform to the ordinance. Mayor Scott reported he had checked
with the Village Attornery, and there is no set amount which the
Village is requieed to pay on improvements of black top steeets.
41s1 Motion by Arens to hold a special meeting on August 22,1961,
Second by Gertz, motion carried. The council discussed holding
a public meeting at Independence Beach dance hall after engineerd
report was complete on beach roads.
The ,junked autos on the Dobozenka property were reported as being
moved, no action will be taken for 2 weeks.
Discussion on holding two meetings per month, no action taken.
The Clerk will contact Medina Moringside lawyer in regard publisigg
water ordinance.
Motion by Gerta to set bottle club fee at 4100.00per year, Second
by Winterhalter, motion carried. Winterhalter left meeting at 10 PM
Motion by Gertz to hold Rochie Begin check, second by Arnes, motion
carried. The road committee will obtain the names of he the land
owners on both sided of 08 notth of 48/ Motion by Roehl to pay
dues to the League of Minnesota municipalities, second by Arens,
motion carried.
The Clerk will check with County Auditor on park levy.
Motion by Gertz to discontinue telephone in Village Hall, second
by Roehl, Motion carried. Motion by Arens to cut the banks on Road
16 and 48 at 88, second by Gertz, motion carried.
Motion by Gertz to buy Civel defense radion for $70.00, second by
Roehl, motion carried.
Motion by Roehl to have road committee look At culvert zx dtz
John M°ierz and do necessary repair, 2nd by Arens, Motion carried.
