HomeMy Public PortalAbout08/01/67 CCM46 • The Council of the Village of Medina met in regular session Tuesday evening, August 1, 1967 at 7:35 P.M. Wayne Neddermeyer - Mayor in Chair Priscilla Arens - Clerk All members except Arthur Theis present. Minutes of the meeting of July 5, 1967 read. Moved by Harold Winterhalter that the minutes be approved as read. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion carried. Minutes of the special meeting of July 8, 1967 read. Moved by Raymond Bosch that the minutes be approved as read. Seconded by Rayburn Anderson Motion carried. Minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of july 17, 1967 read. Joe Raskob appeared with request to have election for Sunday liquor license. Moved by Harold Winterhalter that a special election be scheduled for August 29th for the purpose of voting for the approval of liquor on Sunday in the Village. Seconded by Rayburn Anderson. Motion carried. The Council members suggested the following people for election judges: Mrs. Walter Kohnen, Mrs. Arthur Gertz, Mrs. Virgil.Morin, Leona Koelfgen, Sylvia Rudolph, Mrs. Ken Proehl, Mrs. Chuck Schmitt Dona Roehl, John Dykhoff, Gladyce Reimer, Mildred Thies, Joan Scott, Laura Miller, Kaftan Ahlstrom, Leo G irard and Matt Leiser. Joe Raskob also presented plans for an addition to Medina Recreations blinding. Moved by Rayburn Anderson to Grant Medina Recreations final approval for the addition to the present building, provided it meets the requirements of the building inspector and fire marshal' and stamped approval of a registered architectural engineer. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion carried. Bob Keelen appeared with regard to the property the Mangans are buying, which is too small for well and septic. He was advised the Mangans should appear before the Council with their problem. Letter from the League of Minnesota Municipalities. Moved by Raymond Bosch to renew the membership in the League of Minnesota Municipalities. Seconded by Harold Winterhalter. Motion carried. Richard Carlson appeared with regard to the sewage problem on his place in Medina-Morningside. He was advised he must appear in Court next Monday. Barrett Yongg.,;appeared complaining of sewage smell near his home in Medina- Morningside. t A tentativelfor a meeting with Jack Lehtinen and the Council was set for Monday evening, August 7, 1907 at 7:30 to inspect Lakeview Resort. A letter was read from Mr. & Mrs John D. Patane commending Orlo Eisinger for the work he did when their son was nearly drowned. A letter from the Hennepin County Highway Department was read setting forth repairs which should be i.ade to bridge across Spurzem Creek on „79. Letters from the Hennepin County League of Mmnicipalities and the State of Minnesota with regard to the co-ordination of PERA and Social Security. State of Minnesota Highway Department letter with regard to sending them plats of new developments when bordering on State highways was read. A letter was read from the Bro,klyn Park attorney with regard to the North Hennepin Junior College site. Rayburn Anderson reported that he had attended the Minnehaha Watershed meeting and that they asked that the Council send in the name of someone to represent the Village and receive all correspondence. Moved by Harold Winterhalter to appoint Rayburn Anderson as representative to the Minnehaha Creek Watershed Committee. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion carried. Moved by Rsrold Winterhalter to pay the bills: payroll in the amount of ..�1p1729.5.4rand order checks in the amount of 10,299.64. Seconded by Rayburn Anderson. Motion carried. Moved by Harold Winterhalter that the meeting adjourn. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion caried. Meeting adjourned at 10:20 P.M. Clerk
